My burdens get no lighter,
I have a heavy load.
The clouds seem to be darker.
I'm on this lonely road.

A road filled with troubles.
I wish I could find a way.
This heavy cloud of darkness.
By the roadside I would lay.

Then suddenly a light shines.
Through to brighten my way.
I gave my life to Jesus.
I've found a brighter day.

A road that leads toward Heaven.
I'm traveling that way now.
I found my precious Saviour.
As on my knees I bowed

He lifed all my troubles.
And took my heavy load.
Now all my days are brighter.
Since I left that lonely road."
