A Very Special Person

You are a very special person to me
because you are my friend
I do not choose my friends lightly
for not everyone knows how to be a friend
I chose you mainly because you love Jesus
who is the best friend anyone could wish for
I'm grateful for your kindness
and you make me smile when I am sad
You're always ready to listen
to the things that wear me down
Jesus in you soothes my aching heart
by speaking words of peace and joy
Your support means more than gold to me
These qualities are so hard to find
in most and that's the reason why
I'm thankful for you, my dear friend
