Where the Father was waiting for him
"Son, someone has to go to earth
To take back the souls of men"
"I don't have anyone else
to send to do the job
It will mean the
spilling of blood
And to be beaten by an angry mob"
"You might feel like stopping
And calling the angels down
to take
you away to safety
away from the jeering sound"
"You might even feel they are not worth it
That they deserve to go
to hell
For they will show you no kindness
And break your heart as
well"
"But Son you're the only hope
For mankind to be regained
For
there is no other sacrifice
But the one done in your name"
The father sat down to wait
For what the son would say
Will he go
for the souls of men
That Satan has stolen away
"Father I understand what is to be
That it will take courage to
stand
And to face the anger and torment
But I will do it all for
man"
"I'll hang on the tree of shame
For sins of man to atone
And I
know my father that you
Won't make me do it alone"
"I'll buy back the souls of mankind
I'll walk up that bloody
hill
I'll be the one and only sacrifice
The last of the lambs to be
killed"
"I'll make a way for all to come
To rejoice and make heaven their
goal
For I love the world also
And want to save man and his soul"
So off he went to be born
That man would have a redeemer
bold
When he looked out over the crowd
He remembered what his father
foretold
