Humility is the foundation of all desirable character traits, and all Torah (Bible) writings emphasize its primacy.
"Do you know why sugar sweetens the tea?" the great Chassidic master, Rebbe Yitzchak of Vorka asked. "It is because it
dissolves. Its presence is not evident, only its effects. In fact, as long as you can see the sugar, it has not sweetened
the tea.
"If you make yourself unobtrusive, so that the effects of your efforts are evident rather than your person,
you can sweeten the lives of many people" Rebbe Yitzchak said.
