There is no denying the genius of the human mind. The scientific and technological advances of the twentieth century are
nothing less than marvelous. These achievements may cause us to think that human wisdom is supreme. Some people believe that
the human mind is also capable of dictating principles of right and wrong.
This is a serious fallacy. We are indeed bright, but not all that bright. Adam was misled to think that he could acquire
wisdom equal to that of YHVH ELOHIM. It is important that we know our character strengths and personality assets, but we should
also be aware of our limitations.
It is possible through mathematical calculations to prove that 0=1. Of course we know this to be false, and we, therefore,
conclude that there is a trick in the calculations.
This is how we should feel if we come to any conclusion that contradicts the Bible. This conclusion must be false, and
is a result of some quirk in our reasoning. Zero cannot possibly equal one, and anything that contradicts the word of YHVH
cannot possibly be right.
This was the tragic error in the saga of the spies sent by Moses to scout Canaan. (Num 13:1 - 14:25) Their report of what
they saw was accurate. However, their conclusion was contrary to YHVH's Word. When we try to be wiser then YHVH, we cannot
possibly succeed.
