Where can we find wisdom? Perhaps we were not fortunate enough to receive advanced education. Perhaps we don't have the
time or means to avail ourselves of courses of knowledge. But wisdom is right before us. It is there for the asking. However,
we must desire to be wise.
Who would not wish to be wise? One who allows oneself to be dominated by gratification of one's physical cravings. Indulgence
in earthly pleasures is incompatible with wisdom.
We are composite creatures. The spirit and the body often veer in different directions. "The spirit is willing but the
flesh is weak."
Wisdom is readily available to all. But if we allow ourselves to be deterred by the seductiveness of pleasure seeking,
we will never acquire it. Indeed, we may defensively ridicule and even despise wisdom if it stands in the way of satisfying
temptation.
We should make wisdom our primary goal. The wiser we are, the more perfect we become.
