From Lemons To Lemonade
"If life gives you lemons, make lemonade!"
None of us are perfect. The question is: Do we know what to do when we discover we made a mistake?
A surgeon once ran into some serious complications during an operation, and asked the operating room nurse
to see if there was anyone in the surgeon's lounge who could assist him. She said: The chief of surgery is there.
Should I call him?
Oh, no, the doctor said. He's never gotten into a mess like this. He wouldn't know what to do.
Being exceptionally skillful has its advantages, but may also have its drawbacks, but if we
discover that we have done wrong, and are sincere in correcting it and learning from the experience, we will have converted
a liability into an asset.
The first reaction to recognizing we've made a mistake should be remorse. Then we should
look for ways in which the wisdom gained from the error can be put to good use.
Instead of moping for days, let us turn our attention in a positive direction. |
