The Uplifting Experience Of Giving
"They shall take unto Me an offering."
Ex 25-27
Why does it say "take" and not "give", and why does the Torah use the word "terumah"
(offering) and not the word "nedavah" (donation), as is written later on?
When one gives charity, there is a great
measure of "uplifting" - the Hebrew meaning of "terumah". When people give, they are uplifted and receive in return
much more than they gave.
"Terumah" means to give of yourself, of your money, of your time,
of your body and soul - the greater your giving, the greater is your receiving.
"Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down; shaken
together and running over, shall men give into your bosom." Luke 6:38
